Executive Assistant to the President/Director of Human Resources
Janette Blackburn is the executive assistant to the president of Healthcare Georgia Foundation. She joined the Foundation in July 2005, and is responsible for coordinating administrative activities for the Foundation's president, Gary D. Nelson. She also serves as HR Director for the Foundation, and is the recording secretary to the Board of Directors.
Janette directs and implements the Foundation's administrative activities, which are dedicated to ensuring the achievement of its mission, including: human resources, benefits analysis, purchasing/facilities management, and office operations. An integral member of the Foundation's grantmaking team, she represents an important liaison between the Foundation and its partner organizations.
Prior to joining Healthcare Georgia Foundation, Janette served as a Benefits Specialist at Emory Healthcare, Inc. In this role, she assisted with program administration and consulted employees on their benefits. Janette also worked as a Human Resources Coordinator for Wesley Woods Senior Living, an affiliate of Emory Healthcare.
As a volunteer at the University of Iowa Hospitals Patient Care Units, Janette was recognized for her many years of dedicated service to the patient care mission.
Janette received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. She also received her MBA from Augusta State University. She also received her MBA from Augusta State University and is certified as a Professional in Human Resources, PHR.
