Focus Areas & Initiatives

In the Foundation's efforts to improve health and healthcare for all Georgians, its grantmaking is designed to support organizations that drive positive change; promote programs and policies that improve population health; and connect people, program and resources across our state. The Foundation believes the road to better health for all will be paved by efforts that are grounded in science, built on partnership, and focused on results.

The Foundation's focus areas and initiatives represent grantmaking programs designed, implemented, and evaluated to achieve desired results through comprehensive, multifaceted strategies, defined populations, and significant financial and human resources over time. Foundation initiatives typically focus on health problems and opportunities based on evidence of need, demand, and an effective course of action. Organizations receiving initiative funding are competitively selected through a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
