Session Description:
This online program will increase the knowledge base of nursing professionals regarding prevention’s impact on the quality of cancer care; current screening recommendations and barriers; and the role oncology nurses may play in cancer screening activities.

Session Objectives:
At the end of the presentation, the participant should be able to:

  1. Discuss three levels of prevention that impacts the quality of cancer care.
  2. List recommended cancer screening activities (American Cancer Society, 2008).
  3. Define potential roles of oncology nurses in cancer screening activities.
