Session Description: This program is designed to provide participants with information on the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography. Mr. Penrose will present a session that will highlight various components of the career of Sonography with regard to high school preparation, college admission requirements, requirements for licensure, trends, work environments, specialties, and career opportunities.

Session Objectives:
After this session participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss high school preparation and college requirements to enter the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  2. Discuss career pathways/career ladder and specialties in the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  3. Discuss admission/educational requirements, work environments, and salaries
  4. Discuss trends and the future in the field of Diagnostic Medical Sonography

 

Technology Requirements:
Participants registering for programs should have access to the following technology for best viewing and participation:

  • Personal computer with Macintosh or Windows with 512 MB of RAM
  • Broadband internet connection such as an office LAN, DSL, or cable modem
  • Phone next to personal computer (or speaker phone if multiple people are viewing)
