Session Description: Dr. Carol Hanes currently serves as an Associate Dean in Administration for the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) School of Dentistry. This program is designed for middle, high and college students interested in completing the Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) program at MCG. This program will provide students with information that will help them gain a better understanding of the steps involved in completing a DMD program, including admission requirements and requirements for licensure. Students will also learn about career options available to them upon completion of the DMD program.

 

Session Objectives:
Session participants will learn about:

  1. Career options available in dentistry
  2. Requirements for licensure as a dentist in GA
  3. Components of the DMD curriculum at the Medical College of GA
  4. Steps in the admissions process for the Medical College of GA School of Dentistry

Technology Requirements:
Participants registering for programs should have access to the following technology for best viewing and participation:

  • Personal computer with Macintosh or Windows with 512 MB of RAM
  • Broadband internet connection such as an office LAN, DSL, or cable modem
  • Phone next to personal computer (or speaker phone if multiple people are viewing)
  • Computer speakers (built-in or attached)
  • Latest version of Adobe Flash which can be downloaded for free at http://www.adobe.com/
