Current Funding Opportunities

Dear Friends, Grantees, and Partners:
I am excited to announce the launch of the Foundation’s 2017 Notification of Funding Availability (NOFA) for EmpowerHealth, the Foundation’s new Capacity Building Grant Program. Supporting capacity building allows the Foundation to support health nonprofit organizations and strengthen the way they provide services and collaborate so they are better able to sustain high-quality programs, achieve long-term performance, and obtain better results. This is a two-year pilot program that includes a two phase application, starting with the submission of a Letter of Intent (LOI) and later, a full online application. EmpowerHealth replaces the Foundation’s General Operating Grant Program. The complete funding announcement is available at Healthcare Georgia Foundation’s website at www.healthcaregeorgia.org. Please refer to the NOFA on the Foundation’s website for more information.
The Foundation is partnering with TCC Group (tccgrp.com), a national firm that provides strategic counsel to nonprofit, philanthropic, corporate and governmental clients, to help organizations identify and prioritize organizational areas that would benefit most from additional resource support. TCC Group’s evidence-based organizational assessment instrument, the Core Capacity Assessment Tool (CCAT) will be used throughout the application process by nonprofits who desire to enhance their ability to accurately identify organizational areas that most need strengthening. Completing the CCAT and participating in subsequent capacity building activities will involve a full commitment and engagement from the organization’s Board and staff.
The application process for EmpowerHealth is two phases and applicants must participate in all activities in order to be eligible to apply for a full online application in March 2017. All organizations must initially submit a Letter of Intent. Eligible organizations that submit LOIs will have the opportunity to participate in the following activities:
- Attend one of three Core Capacity Assessment Toolkit (CCAT) orientation webinars
- Complete the online CCAT to identity organizational areas that need strengthening
- Obtain assistance from TCC Group to interpret the CCAT results
- Submit an application for funding based on the needs identified from the CCAT to the Foundation
Organizations that do not submit the LOI will not be eligible to participate in the CCAT orientation webinars, complete the CCAT, receive coaching from TCC Group or apply for a full online application. LOIs are due by January 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. EST.
