Mike Sweeney joined Healthcare Georgia Foundation in May 2002, and is responsible for managing it’s financial operations and reporting functions. Additionally, he is responsible for the technology infrastructure for the Foundation, including data integrity and disaster recovery. He assists the Foundation’s president with HealthTecdl, the organization’s Distance Learning Program. He also reviews prospective grantee financial statements.
Prior to joining Healthcare Georgia Foundation, Mike was with Bank of America for over 30 years. He most recently held the position of senior vice president, where his responsibilities included managing the financial and administrative functions for the company’s Corporate Affairs division. In addition, he managed the financial and administrative functions of the organization’s Foundation and related programs such as Matching Gifts.
Mike serves as a representative for Healthcare Georgia Foundation with TAG (Technology Affinity Group with the Council on Foundations) and the Council on Foundations Survey on Investment Performance and Practices of Private Foundations. He is also a member of the board of the Southeastern Council on Foundations.
He attended Georgia State University and has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
