Healthcare Georgia Foundation Announces 29 Grants to Organizations and Programs Totaling More Than $1.3M
Atlanta, GA – June 18, 2012 - Healthcare Georgia Foundation today announced $1,308,375 in grant awards to 29 organizations and programs benefitting the health of Georgians. These 2012 awards reflect Healthcare Georgia Foundation’s desire to better align resources across its priority areas and streamline its grant application process through cycle-based funding. The inaugural Cycle 1 grants were awarded to 13 Georgia-based health nonprofits totaling $550,000.
In addition, the Foundation continued its support of the recently launched Evaluation Resource Center (ERC), a program that offers evaluation tools and services tailored to help nonprofits achieve better outcomes. “Healthcare Georgia Foundation is strongly committed, both internally and externally, to achieving better outcomes,” said Gary D. Nelson, president. “Our new grantmaking approach, coupled with the launch of the ERC will help ensure that we leverage our limited resources for maximum impact.” The Foundation also affirmed its ongoing support of Georgia’s public health system through several grants aimed at bolstering resources and health services for underserved communities.
