School Nursing in Georgia is a challenging and exciting specialty of Nursing. As access to healthcare is changing, School Nurses are finding themselves confronted daily by children and their families who are seeking them out to provide nursing assessments and interventions for a myriad of healthcare issues. School Nurses have become the primary licensed healthcare professional that many Georgia families rely on for guidance, health counseling and referrals.
Description: The role of the School Nurse is unique and challenging. No other healthcare professional has access to such a high percentage of children in Georgia, or to such a large workforce. This video will provide you with comprehensive training on the effective implementation of health promotion initiatives by school nurses, including your role in the annual immunization assessment which is instrumental in the prevention of diseases, resource management, and policy.
Objective: To provide training on effective implementation of health promotion initiatives by school nurses in Georgia schools through webinars.
CE/CME:
Three Rivers AHEC is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Georgia Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Promoting Health and Academic Achievement-100 Series (6 sessions)/200 Series (2 sessions) has been approved for a total of 6.5 contact hours. Certificates will be issued upon completion of the training.
