The infant mortality rate in Georgia continues to rank as one of the highest in the United States with African American women  and infants twice as likely to die when compared to White women and babies. Taking Care of You, a recently completed three-year Foundation initiative, focused on three Georgia nonprofit organizations working to improve maternal health and reduce infant mortality in their communities. The impact of one of the grantees – the Baby LUV Program of the Lowndes County Health Department in Valdosta, GA is featured in the video below.
