Healthcare Georgia Foundation reaffirms its vision for health equity
through new five-year strategic plan
Atlanta, GA – May 13, 2019 – After a year-long examination of its mission, strengths, and the ever-changing health and healthcare landscape, Healthcare Georgia Foundation has reaffirmed its vision for health equity for all through a new Strategic Plan. The Foundation’s resources will be directed to six program priorities during the next five years that include:
- Building nonprofit organizational capacity
- Improving maternal and infant health outcomes
- Addressing health equity in rural Georgia
- Preventing and managing chronic diseases
- Health impact investing
- Health equity leadership
“Our future investments are designed to strengthen nonprofits, promote health and prevent disease, expand access to healthcare services, and address health disparities,” said Gary D. Nelson, PhD, Foundation president. “Our core priorities will enable us to include and address the broader Social Determinants of Health through strategic grantmaking and direct charitable activities, evaluating and applying what works to benefit vulnerable populations and underserved communities.”
The Foundation’s work reflects an unwavering commitment to achieving health equity for all Georgians through values reflecting diversity, inclusion, engagement, accountability, and transparency.
