What We Fund

As the Foundation’s work evolves, we are considering our most impactful opportunities for improving the health of Georgians. We will focus on opportunities to inspire and promote collective action that changes systems and advances health equity for Georgians. We are in the process of developing new programmatic areas that will draw upon all of our change tools: grantmaking, advocacy, convening, elevating voices, and telling stories. As those programs launch we will share partnership opportunities with those whose work aligns with ours.

Funding Opportunity Announcement: Building the Field of Advocacy

At Healthcare Georgia Foundation, we’re working toward a Georgia in which all people can achieve their fullest potential for health and we are looking for partners in possibility. Effective, lasting systems change requires advocacy that elevates the voices, stories, and experiences of Georgians. The Foundation is committed to strengthening the field of advocates by supporting organizations’ efforts to empower communities to educate and influence decision makers. If you have a vision for a different, better, healthier future, we want to hear from you. Together, we can create urgency around changes needed to advance health equity in Georgia.  

Via the Building the Field of Health Advocacy program the Foundation aims to support projects that: 

  • Identify emerging opportunities to advance health equity in Georgia at the systems level either locally or statewide 

  • Elevate community voices to educate decision-makers on health-related issues of importance to communities 

  • Bolster the capacity of nonprofit organizations to engage in effective advocacy efforts including research, policy development, coalition building and mobilization, community engagement, and strategic communications 

  • Strengthen the overall field of health advocacy

Request for Proposals for Contracted Services: Health Policy and Advocacy Landscape Research

Recognizing that effective, lasting systems change requires advocacy that elevates the voices, stories, and experiences of Georgians, the Foundation is committed to strengthening the field of advocates, and to supporting organizations’ efforts to empower communities to influence decision-makers and create urgency around changes needed to advance health equity in Georgia. 

Georgians currently benefit from a strong field of advocacy organizations doing this work on behalf of and in partnership with people and communities across our state. To help realize our commitment to strengthening this field, the Foundation is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to design and conduct research that will result in a thorough understanding of the current health policy landscape and the capacity of the health advocacy community in Georgia.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Healthcare Georgia Foundation dedicates a very limited amount of funds each year to sponsor events that further our mission and advance health equity. Priority is given to the following types of events:

  • Events that promote connection and collaboration across or within sectors, geographies or communities with the purpose of generating interest in issues that will advance health equity for Georgians
  • Events that inform, educate, or build the knowledge base of people working to advance health equity for Georgians

Healthcare Georgia Foundation does not use its sponsorship dollars to support fundraising events, capital campaigns, health fairs, days at the Capitol, supply drives, or similar events.
