Healthcare Georgia Foundation Announces Kristy Klein Davis as Incoming President
Klein Davis joins the Foundation from Missouri Foundation for Health, where she oversaw all
programmatic functions and long-term strategic planning
Atlanta, GA – April 7, 2022 – Healthcare Georgia Foundation today announced Kristy Klein Davis as its new President, effective June 13, 2022. Klein Davis joins the Foundation following a 12-year career at Missouri Foundation for Health where she served as Chief Strategy Officer since 2019. In this role, Klein Davis was responsible for developing overarching strategies surrounding Missouri Foundation for Health’s mission, values, guiding principles, and resulted in a diverse portfolio of programs addressing important health initiatives. As President of Healthcare Georgia Foundation, Klein Davis will work with the Board of Directors and Foundation staff to execute innovative grantmaking strategies, and to carry out the multi-faceted work of the Foundation as it seeks to serve Georgians.
“My time at MFH has been nothing short of amazing,” said Klein Davis. “The challenges, successes, and overall experiences we’ve enjoyed as a regional changemaker have prepared me to take this next step with Healthcare Georgia Foundation. I am beyond thrilled that the board and staff at HGF are confident in my abilities to lead the organization and enhance health and well-being for all Georgians. The opportunities in Georgia are plentiful, and I’m excited to be part of a vibrant community working together to enhance health equity in Georgia.”
While at MFH, Klein Davis was involved in efforts that resulted in the expansion of Medicaid, reductions in infant mortality, and emergency response work that required immediate strategy development and broad coordination. She led the Foundation’s early COVID response work, during which MFH committed $15 million to assist organizations in the short term with public health and social infrastructure needs and statewide prevention efforts. Klein Davis’ work experience has been rooted in various forms of equity, while focusing on systems change strategies that will have long-term impact.
“Following our rigorous candidate search and interview process, Healthcare Georgia Foundation is delighted to welcome Kristy Klein Davis as our next President,” Said Board Chair Dr. Doug Patten. “Her commitment and vision of health equity for all can be seen so clearly in her work, and that same vision is what guides the Foundation in all that we do.”
“Kristy Klein Davis is an excellent leader for Healthcare Georgia Foundation as it enters this next phase,” said Healthcare Georgia Foundation President Dr. Gary Nelson. “It has been my privilege to lead this Foundation for the past 20 years, and I look forward to the continued success and impact that will occur under her leadership as the mission and vision of the Foundation carries on.”
