Healthcare Georgia Foundation Partners with Maternal Health Organizations

These Organizations Work Diligently to Reduce Maternal Mortality Rates and Improve Health Outcomes

Atlanta, GA – July 25, 2022 – Healthcare Georgia Foundation has partnered with the Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement and the March of Dimes in their tireless efforts to increase equitable health outcomes for mothers and infants in Georgia.

The Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement hosts SPEAK UP training interactive workshops that are designed to outline strategies to help individuals and groups dismantle racism, provide quality equitable care, and reduce perinatal health disparities. By providing these insightful strategies for advocacy, the Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement tackles the issues of racism and bias that are found within many maternal health care settings.

As a longstanding champion of mothers and babies, the March of Dimes supports research, leads programs and provides education and advocacy so that every family can have the best possible start. With Georgia’s maternal mortality rates consistently ranking among the highest in the nation, the March of Dimes continues to lead the charge towards systemic change and improvement in equitable care.

“As a Foundation focused on reducing health disparities, we recognize the importance and urgency of increasing access to equitable and high-quality maternal and child health services,” said Foundation President Kristy Klein Davis. She continued, “The Institute for Perinatal Quality Improvement and the March of Dimes are shining a light on these important issues, and we’re excited to see their future accomplishments in this work.”
