Third Quarter Foundation grant awards support capacity building in Georgia communities

Healthcare Georgia Foundation awards $840,000 in grants to Georgia health nonprofits for long-term technical and financial supports

Atlanta, GA – October 30, 2018 – Healthcare Georgia Foundation has announced its third quarter grant awards totaling $840,000 that will support health nonprofit organizations in urban and rural communities in Georgia working to build organizational capacity and provide affordable and sustaining health services to underserved populations.

“These grant awards reflect a deepening of our engagement and commitment to advancing health equity among populations disproportionately affected by health disparities.,” said Gary D. Nelson, PhD, Foundation President. “What we seek to achieve through these awards are expanded opportunities for underserved Georgians to reach their full health potential.”

Recipients of the Foundation’s third quarter grant awards include:

Georgia Health Decisions  – $220,000
Support to deliver coaching services to the 11 Two Georgias Initiative grantees including the lead organizations and the affiliated coalitions/partnerships.

Partnership for Southern Equity – $200,000
Support to provide technical assistance focused on health equity to the 11 Two Georgias Initiativegrantees, including the lead organizations and affiliated coalitions/partnerships.

Stepping Stone Partners, LLC – $50,000
Support to assist Healthcare Georgia Foundation implement a strategic impact investment program in 2018.

Community Health Center Capital Fund, Inc. –  $100,000
Support to build its technical and financial capacity to pursue strategic impact investments that will deliver long-term beneficial impacts to low income communities served by community health centers in Georgia.

ACT! Albany Community Together, Inc. – $100,000
Support to build its technical and financial capacity to pursue strategic impact investments that will deliver long-term beneficial health and quality of life impacts to low income Georgia communities.

Carver Financial Corporation (Catalyst Development Corporation) – $100,000
Support to establish Catalyst as a certified CDFI and to pursue strategic impact investments that will deliver long-term health related impacts to low income Georgia communities.

TCC Group – $70,000
Support to partner with the Foundation to provide targeted capacity building assistance to EmpowerHealth Cohort Two grantees.
